Stretch ceilings
Stretch ceilings or stretched coatings are a kind of suspended ceiling also used for wall covering. These ceilings are very popular especially among interior designers and architects.
Today ceilings and walls are as important as furniture in room decoration. MSC stretch coatings with maximum thickness of 0.1mm to 0.05mm and more than 150 colors are available in lacquer, mat, translucent, and suede finishes.
The installment is very easy and quick. Our company can install up to 300 meters per day.
This technology is made of a very specific type of PVC film that is only 180g per square meters and because of high flexibility, it tolerates sudden strokes very well.
This coating is antibacterial and dust resistant thus it is suitable for hygienic places like hospitals. A special kind of stretch ceilings called translucent is able to filter and distribute light evenly. This property enables architects to change the atmosphere of the room by illumination. In places such as shopping centers, restaurants, coffee shops, lobbies, theater stages and any other place that color changing is targeted, translucent ceilings can be installed by unlimited imagination.
Lacquered stretch ceilings with a high degree of light reflection, works as a very big mirror and enlarges the room space. Furthermore by reflecting lights it saves energy both in flat and 3D types.
The assembly process takes place by stretching the ceilings coating on an aluminum structure that has been fastened to the wall at any chosen height (minimum distance from the ceiling must be 35 mm).
At the same time, it fulfills several functions:
It can lower areas that are too high.
- It can cover defects of old ceilings and hide any installation placed beneath the ceilings.
- It offers protection to the area below from damage caused by leakage from a water supply system.
- It has an attractive finish, resembling the surface of water with a mirror reflection.
This kind of ceilings can be given any shape: flat, oval, arched, round, spiral, involving broken lines or various levels.
If there are lighting and ventilation systems they must be assembled separately and independent supports or suspension brackets to keep the load off the ceiling.
STRETCHING OF THE COATING
With the use of the heater (power requirements of up to 50 kw/hr), the temperature of 43-70 c is generated allowing the coating to become flexible so that it can spread on the structure molding. This activity is performed using special tools such as assembly trowels, corner tool and stretching pliers.
MANTENANCE
Once applied, you obtain a beautiful smooth surface, which is maintenance free and doesn’t require painting or other treatment for the year warranty period. It can easily be cleaned with water and proprietary detergents.

History
Construction industry is definitely one of the most important industries and it’s growing in a rapid rate. Today many lightweight ceilings are produced to make the buildings lighter, and Stretch ceiling is one of the lightest. So it is possible to install a stretch ceiling in an area of up to 64 square meters that is only supported by surroundings. These suspended stretch ceilings are very unique and beautiful to be used for interior decoration.
In 20th century the new technology of stretch ceiling came from Sweden and then extended through West Europe. The first stretch ceiling was made in 1969 and the first European company that started the production of these ceilings was BARRISOL and that’s the reason they are called BARRISOL ceilings. BARRISOL Company has been started since 1975.

Question 4: is it possible to hang chandeliers or other decorative hangers from stretch ceilings?
Yes, all kinds of chandelier and lighting hangers can be installed on stretch ceilings like gypsum ceilings.
Question 5: how much is the usual space between the original ceiling and the stretch ceiling?
The space between two ceilings is usually between 6cm and 30cm depending on the equipment installed behind the stretch ceiling.
installation
1- The first step is taking the measurements on site. Then our engineers draw the plan with our special software and the next step is producing the stretch ceiling in our workshop. After the production our installation staff will be ready on site with the ready stretch ceiling, special aluminum profiles and equipment like heater and toolbox. The illumination systems and basic infrastructure should be done before our installation team comes on site.
2- The next step is installing the aluminum profiles and lamp bases. In this step we can prepare the required space and material for ventilation equipment and other facilities.
3- The stretch ceiling is heated slowly and fixed on a few spots.
4- The rest of the stretch ceiling is fixed into the profiles.
5- After the installation fireproof washer is attached to the required places for illumination systems and the center of the washer is cut.
6- The illumination facilities installed and the installation of the ceiling is finished.
7- The stretch ceiling is handed over to the client.
8 & 9 – Maintenance and safety tips: Do not touch the ceiling with sharp tools and use only a soft cloth and glass cleaner liquid to clean the stretch ceiling.

Company history
Modern Saghf Espadana started its job 12 years ago (First Azhandehsazan company then changed to Modern Saghf). We started our job by importing directly from European companies and after getting enough experience, gathering information about production and training courses passed in Europe, we bought related software and machines and then started the production in Iran as the first Iranian stretch ceiling producer. We are proud to complete big projects like Salman Toos, Arman Toos, and Aftab in Mashhad City and also projects in other cities like Bandarabbas, Kermanshah, Gilan, Mazandaran, Tehran and so on.
After two years of experience in tensile structures, our company started the production of these structures in Isfahan with European engineers help, and European machines, software and material. We are proud to work with engineers from Isfahan who are experienced in steel structures. One of our big projects is Abbasi Caravansary (also called Madarshah) located in Isfahan-Tehran road and also we completed several smaller tensile structures in Isfahan City.
